Abstract

Chronic liver disease (CLD) induced by RNA-based viral infections, particularly hepatitis B, C, and D, continues to be a global health burden. Liver function tests (LFTs) provide essential biochemical insights into hepatic integrity and function. This study evaluates the alterations in LFT parameters among patients with CLD resulting from RNA viral hepatitis. A clinical assessment of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin, albumin, and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels was conducted in affected individuals. Findings reveal significant elevation in transaminases and bilirubin, while albumin levels declined with increasing disease severity. The study emphasizes the predictive utility of LFTs in monitoring disease progression and guiding therapeutic decisions in RNA virus-induced CLD.
