AI POLICY
The Journal of Advanced Electrical and Electronic Engineering (JAEEE) recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in scientific research, academic writing, and scholarly publishing. The journal supports the responsible, ethical, and transparent use of AI tools while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, accountability, and research transparency.
Authors may use AI-assisted tools for language improvement, grammar correction, manuscript formatting, data analysis, programming assistance, and other legitimate research-related activities. However, the use of such technologies must not compromise the originality, accuracy, reliability, or scientific integrity of the submitted work.
AI tools, including generative AI systems such as ChatGPT, cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, or ethical conduct of scholarly research. Human authors remain fully accountable for all content submitted for publication, including text, data, images, references, analyses, and conclusions generated or assisted by AI technologies.
Authors must disclose any substantial use of generative AI tools in manuscript preparation, research methodology, data analysis, image generation, or content development. Such disclosures should identify the AI tool used, its purpose, and the extent of its involvement. Routine spelling and grammar corrections do not normally require formal disclosure.
The use of AI-generated content to fabricate or manipulate research data, create misleading images, generate fictitious references, misrepresent findings, or conceal plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Authors must independently verify the accuracy and authenticity of all AI-assisted content, including citations, statistical results, technical explanations, and research interpretations.
JAEEE requires authors to ensure that the use of AI tools complies with applicable copyright laws, intellectual property rights, confidentiality obligations, and research ethics requirements. Authors must not upload confidential research data, unpublished manuscripts belonging to others, or sensitive information into AI systems without appropriate authorization and safeguards.
Reviewers and editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts throughout the editorial and peer-review process. Unpublished manuscripts, peer-review reports, and confidential editorial information must not be uploaded to publicly accessible generative AI platforms without explicit authorization and appropriate data protection arrangements. AI tools must not replace independent scientific judgment or editorial responsibility.
The journal permits responsible AI-assisted research methods when their use is scientifically justified, adequately documented, and reproducible. Authors conducting research involving AI models, machine learning algorithms, or automated decision-making systems should provide sufficient methodological details, including relevant model specifications, datasets, evaluation procedures, and limitations, to support scientific verification.
JAEEE follows relevant ethical publishing principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) concerning authorship, transparency, accountability, confidentiality, and research integrity.
Any suspected misuse of AI technologies, including undisclosed substantial AI-generated content, fabricated research findings, manipulated data, or misleading scientific information, may be investigated by the editorial office. Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, appropriate actions may include requesting clarification or revisions, rejecting the manuscript, issuing a correction, or retracting a published article.
Through this policy, JAEEE is committed to encouraging responsible technological innovation while ensuring that human accountability, scientific originality, transparency, and ethical publishing standards remain central to the research and publication process.
