Article Correction/Retraction Policy
The Journal of Advanced Electrical and Electronic Engineering (JAEEE) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record.
The journal recognizes that errors, inaccuracies, ethical concerns, or research misconduct may occasionally be identified after an article has been published. Addressing such matters promptly, fairly, and transparently is essential to maintaining confidence in scientific research.
This policy establishes the principles and procedures for issuing corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern for published articles.
JAEEE's approach is informed by internationally recognized publication ethics guidance, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Article Corrections
Corrections are issued when errors, inaccuracies, or omissions are identified in published articles and require formal clarification or amendment.
Such concerns may be identified by authors, readers, reviewers, editors, or other interested parties.
Corrections may be appropriate for:
-
Errors in numerical calculations or reported measurements.
-
Incorrect or incomplete figures, tables, or technical diagrams.
-
Minor inaccuracies in experimental descriptions or simulation parameters.
-
Errors in author affiliations or relevant bibliographic information.
-
Incorrect references or missing acknowledgments.
-
Other errors that require clarification but do not substantially invalidate the article's findings or conclusions.
The editorial office will assess the nature and significance of the reported error before determining whether a formal correction is necessary.
Where a correction is issued, JAEEE will publish a clearly identified correction notice explaining the relevant changes.
The correction notice will be linked to the original article, and the original publication date will remain unchanged.
Any revised article version will be appropriately identified to maintain the transparency of the publication record.
Article Retractions
Retractions are issued when reliable evidence establishes that the findings, conclusions, or scholarly integrity of a published article are seriously compromised.
Retraction may be appropriate where the article contains unreliable research findings resulting from misconduct, serious methodological errors, or honest mistakes that substantially invalidate the published work.
Grounds for retraction may include:
-
Serious plagiarism or substantial unattributed reproduction of previously published material.
-
Fabrication or falsification of research data.
-
Manipulation or misrepresentation of experimental or simulation results.
-
Major errors that invalidate the principal findings or conclusions.
-
Redundant or duplicate publication without appropriate disclosure or justification.
-
Serious violations of research ethics.
-
Unauthorized use of copyrighted or confidential research material.
-
Evidence that the peer-review or publication process was materially compromised.
Retraction decisions will be based on documented evidence and the seriousness of the concern.
A retraction is intended primarily to correct the scholarly record rather than to punish authors.
Criteria for Retraction
JAEEE may retract a published article where an appropriate assessment establishes one or more of the following circumstances:
-
The article contains unreliable findings resulting from major errors, fabrication, or falsification.
-
Substantial plagiarism or serious publication misconduct has been established.
-
The article substantially duplicates previously published research without appropriate disclosure.
-
Research involving human participants or animals was conducted without required ethical approval or in violation of applicable ethical standards.
-
The article contains serious ethical violations that undermine its scholarly validity.
-
The publication process was compromised by fraudulent authorship, manipulated peer review, or other serious misconduct.
Not every error, plagiarism concern, or ethical complaint automatically results in retraction.
The journal will consider whether a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or another appropriate response is justified by the available evidence.
Expressions of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when serious questions have been raised about the reliability or integrity of a published article but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation remains incomplete.
An expression of concern may be appropriate when:
-
A credible allegation of research misconduct is under investigation.
-
There are significant unresolved concerns about research data or methodology.
-
An institutional investigation is ongoing.
-
The journal has identified serious concerns but cannot yet reach a definitive conclusion.
An expression of concern does not automatically establish that misconduct has occurred.
The notice will explain the nature of the concern and will be linked to the affected article.
Following the completion of an investigation, the journal may issue a correction, retraction, or other appropriate update.
Reporting Errors and Publication Concerns
Authors, readers, reviewers, editors, and other concerned individuals may report suspected errors, inaccuracies, or publication misconduct to the JAEEE editorial office.
Reports should identify the relevant article and explain the nature of the concern.
Where available, supporting evidence or documentation should be provided.
Editorial Contact: editor@jaeee.org
The journal will assess reported concerns fairly and maintain appropriate confidentiality throughout the process.
Investigation Procedure
When a credible concern is reported, JAEEE will undertake an editorial assessment appropriate to the nature and seriousness of the allegation.
The investigation may involve:
-
Reviewing the published article and supporting documentation.
-
Examining relevant research data, calculations, figures, or simulation results.
-
Requesting explanations from the corresponding author and other relevant authors.
-
Consulting reviewers, independent subject experts, or members of the Editorial Board.
-
Considering relevant COPE guidance and publication ethics procedures.
-
Referring matters requiring institutional investigation to the appropriate research organization.
Authors will ordinarily be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to substantive concerns before a final decision is reached.
Investigations will distinguish between honest errors, methodological deficiencies, and deliberate misconduct.
Editorial Decision-Making
Following the assessment, the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriately authorized independent editor will determine the necessary editorial action.
Possible outcomes include:
-
No further action where the concern is unsupported.
-
Publication of a correction.
-
Publication of an expression of concern.
-
Retraction of the affected article.
-
Referral of the matter to an appropriate institution or authority where necessary.
The decision will be based on the available evidence, the reliability of the article, and the need to maintain an accurate scholarly record.
Editors with relevant conflicts of interest must not participate in decisions concerning affected articles.
Publication of Correction and Retraction Notices
JAEEE is committed to ensuring that corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are clearly communicated to readers.
Where a formal notice is issued, the journal will seek to ensure that it:
-
Clearly identifies the affected article.
-
Explains the nature of the correction, concern, or retraction.
-
Is publicly accessible through the journal's website.
-
Is linked to the original article.
-
Includes appropriate bibliographic information.
-
Identifies the date of the notice.
-
Distinguishes the original article from subsequent editorial updates.
Where applicable, article metadata and DOI records should be updated to reflect the publication status.
Accessibility of Retracted Articles
Retracted articles will ordinarily remain accessible in the journal's archive to preserve the transparency and integrity of the scholarly record.
Such articles will be clearly identified as RETRACTED and linked to the corresponding retraction notice.
The journal will avoid silently deleting or replacing published articles.
Removal of an article's content may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as legal requirements, serious privacy violations, or significant risks arising from continued public availability.
Where removal is necessary, an appropriate public notice should be retained whenever legally and technically possible.
Author Notification and Right to Respond
Authors will be informed of significant concerns relating to their published work and will ordinarily be given an opportunity to provide explanations or supporting documentation.
Where a correction or retraction is proposed, the editorial office will communicate the relevant findings and intended action to the corresponding author.
Author disagreement does not necessarily prevent the journal from issuing a correction or retraction when sufficient evidence supports the action.
Appeals and Complaints
Authors may appeal a correction or retraction decision by submitting a written explanation supported by relevant evidence.
Appeals should identify a substantive factual error, procedural concern, conflict of interest, or other reasonable basis for reconsideration.
Where practicable, appeals will be assessed by senior editors who were not directly involved in the original decision.
Appeals and complaints will be handled according to the journal's established Complaints and Appeals Policy.
Editorial Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board of JAEEE are responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy.
Editors are expected to:
-
Respond appropriately to credible publication concerns.
-
Maintain fairness, confidentiality, and editorial independence.
-
Seek relevant expert advice when necessary.
-
Provide authors with an appropriate opportunity to respond.
-
Ensure that corrective notices are accurate and transparent.
-
Maintain appropriate documentation of editorial investigations and decisions.
-
Protect the integrity of the published scholarly record.
Editorial decisions must not be influenced by financial, commercial, institutional, or personal interests.
Policy Review and Continuous Improvement
JAEEE may periodically review this policy to reflect developments in publication ethics, scholarly publishing standards, and post-publication editorial practices.
The journal encourages authors and readers to report legitimate concerns that may affect the accuracy or reliability of published research.
